TAPPY, Beverlie Frances - Age 82 of Flint, died February 5, 2017 at McLaren Flint. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday February 11 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Beverlie was born December 7, 1934 in Flint the daughter of Warner and Lola (Adams) Price. She married Joseph Tappy July 11, 1953 in Flint. She worked at Genesee Memorial Hospital as Director of Admissions, retiring in 1988 with 25 years of service. Beverlie was a member of Hope United Methodist Church where she was involved with the prayer shawl ministry, the Hand Bell and Chancel Choirs and distributed communion to shut ins. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cross stitching. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 64 years. Family always came first for Beverlie. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Joseph Tappy Sr., of Flint; children, Michelle (James) Kelly of Holt, Michael (Kay) Tappy of Grandville, Joseph Tappy, Jr. of Flint; grandchildren, Jason (Rachel) Kelly, Emily (Ryan) Weldon, Meghan (Kevin) DiPiazza, Ryan Tappy, Kaitlin (Kevin) Crowe; Great grandchildren Zoe and Noah Weldon, Madelyn and Amelia DiPiazza, and Penelope Crowe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Phyllis Young and Jean DeCourval.
