Donna Proffer

PROFFER, Donna Faye - Age 87, passed away peacefully at her residence in Grand Blanc, February 13, 2017, after a long illness. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1PM Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 11AM Saturday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers. contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society. Donna was born September 19, 1929 in Mt. Morris she was a lifelong resident of the Flint area. She was one of six children born to the late William and Dana (Hammond) Strong. Donna retired as a supervisor from A.C. Spark Plug after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Democratic 225 Club of Flint, the Michigan Humane Society, and numerous other charitable organizations. Donna had a keen love of animals and was an avid gardener. She had a feisty sense of humor and was always willing to lend a kind helping hand to anyone in need. She will truly be missed by many. Donna is survived by sons: Wayne (Maryellen) Breece of Flushing, David Breece of Grand Blanc; grandchildren: Jillian (Robert) Mackey of Ft. Myers, Florida, Christopher Breece of Birmingham, Alabama, Lance Proffer of Rochester Hills, Michigan; great-grand-daughter: Madison Mackey; nieces: Joni Prins, Linda Callahan, Pam Desoto, Cathy Burch, and Kathleen. She was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon Proffer; son: Gregory Proffer; brother: Cloyd Strong; sisters; Ima Paulson, Lela Burch, Vivian Wachowiak, and Marion Acord; beloved dog: Buffy.
