Douglas Flory

FLORY, Douglas "Doug" H.- Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died peacefully Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the University of Michigan Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Reverend Zolton Sutto officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 4PM - 8PM Monday, and 12PM until time of service Tuesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Heritage Church (Davison Rd), or the Genesee County Humane Society or an organization of your choice. Doug was born January 19, 1937 in Lansing, the son of the late Leo and Leona (Huff) Flory and graduated from Grand Blanc High school in 1956. He married Yolanda Kish on June 20, 1964 in Flint. Doug was a member of the UAW local 659, and retired from the General Motors V-8 engine plant with 43 years of service. Doug was an active member of the Holiday Ramblers Trailer Club #195 for over 35 years. He enjoyed campfires, golfing, bocce ball, billiards, & tinkering on projects. He mostly enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. Surviving are: wife of 52 years, Yolanda of Swartz Creek; sons, Kevan (Kathleen) Flory of Topinabee, MI, Michael (Lamees) Flory of Commerce Twp., MI; grandchildren, Jude and Skyler.
