WILLIAMS, Elton "Bud" - age 90, of Flint, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 21 at Lamb Of God Lutheran Church, 2051 W. Maple Avenue, Flint. Reverend Paul Boerger officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 2-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint, and at the church on Friday an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lamb of God Lutheran Church. Bud was born January 21, 1927 in Flint, the son of the late Louis and Mary (Mayme Madden) Williams. Bud's 64 year marriage to Melita (Dolly) Meier was from July 24, 1948 until her death on March 28, 2013. Bud served from 1944 to 1946 as a Petty Officer in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was undefeated on the boxing team of the U.S.S. Prairie and continued his service for 12 years following the war in the Naval Reserves. He operated Bud's Barbershop on Fenton Road for over 30 years, retiring in 1989. Annually for the twelve years following retirement Bud and Dolly drove to Las Vegas for portions of the year. He delighted in showing the grand and great-grand kids magic tricks. Bud was an avid motorcyclist and skydived numerous times; his last jump five years ago was in celebration of his 64th wedding anniversary. Surviving are daughter, Janis and husband Laurel Weatherford of Mundy Township; two sons, Jay and wife Theresa Williams of Clare, Tom and wife Karen Williams of Linden; four grandchildren, Pamela and husband Chad of Grand Blanc, Angela and husband Chad Moyer of Ypsilanti, Jeremy and wife Angela Williams of Rives Junction, Matthew and wife Cheryl Williams of Holt, Michigan; brother Robert Williams, sister Margaret and husband Art Straw, and brother Jack and wife Julie Williams; 11 great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Austin, Adam, Melissa, Sarah and Jay Williams, Brendan and MaKenzie Borg, Nathan, Noah and Brooklyn Moyer; brother-in-law, Fred and wife Marilyn Meier; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife Melita, he was preceded in death by his parents, Mayme and Louis; sisters, Lucille Harney, Evelyn King; brother, Walter; sister-in-law, Pat Williams and brothers in-law, Jack Harney and Lloyd King.
