Johanna King

KING, Johanna Lina - of Flint Township, died January 23, 2018. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, February 16 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 711 S. Saginaw St., Flint; Fr. Dan Scheid officiating. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 10 a.m., service immediately following at 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church to benefit the Susan Kilmer Scholarship Fund, or to the Humane Society. Johanna was born May 31, 1924 in Iserlohn, Germany, the daughter of Karl Mueller and Francesca (Zonderman) Mueller. She received an Associate's Degree in food management and had a long career as a Supervisor in food service in Germany, England and the United States, retiring in 1983 as a Wine Buyer for J. L. Hudson. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church since 1970 where her husband served as a Deacon for seven years. She was a member of the Altar Guild and enjoyed the Tuesday "Lunch Bunch" at Masonic Temple. She told everyone she had "a special love of dachshund dogs, flowers and her husband Jan . . . not necessarily in that order". She tended her beautiful English Garden, spent time with her beloved pets and enjoyed cruising with Clay and Joyce. Surviving are several nieces and a nephew; adopted family, Joyce and Clay Leroue; special friends: James and Tracy Leman and daughters Heather, Ashley and Hillary; Steve and Terry Moses and sons. A special thank you to the staff at ComFor Care, An Angel's Touch and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care. Johanna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jan, her parents and family in Germany, and many other loved ones.
