BARRETT, Katherine J. - Age 87, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, April 7, 2017. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11AM Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Father Anthony Strouse celebrant. Burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 10AM Tuesday until time of mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Katherine was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI, on August 20, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Corcoran) Torpey. Mrs. Barrett married William Barrett in Flint, November of 1953 and he preceded her in death. Katherine retired from Michigan Catholic Conference with 20 years of service. Surviving are: sister, Patricia Kelly of Swartz Creek and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and David Barrett; siblings, Leo Torpey, Eileen Faber, Jo Bryant, Don and Gary Torpey.
