Kim Palacios

Kimberly Ann Palacios, 48, of Flint, passed away on March 9th, 2017 after losing a courageous battle with addiction. She was the daughter of Nash Palacios and Sharon Sekora; sister of Donald Palacios; mother of Ashley DeVore; and grandmother of RaeLynn DeVore; she is also survived by her partner Travis Bowles; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kim was never meant to be defined by her addiction, but rather by her strong-willed, charismatic personality and her desire to help others in need. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light the darkest corner; she dared you to be sad when she was around. All that knew her would tell you her love for family and friends was unparalleled. Through it all Kim strived to be the best version of herself, she is not just another statistic, she is a warrior who fought bravely until the very end. Addiction does not discriminate, it does not take bribes, and it does not care who it hurts. If you or anyone you know is struggling do not hesitate to get help. Through the hard work and dedication of everyone involved addiction can be conquered; Kim would want you all to succeed. Visitation to be held at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Flint on April 8th from 10am-11 am with a memorial service to follow officiated by Fr. James. The family would appreciate donations for funeral expenses in lieu of flowers.
