CRONENWALT, Lillian - Age 94, of Flushing, died Thursday, August 11, 2017 at McLaren - Flint. Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the chapel of Machpelah Cemetery, 4615 Branch Road, Flint with Rabbi Yisroel Weingarten officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Cecilia Society. Mrs. Cronenwalt was born September 9, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Max Joseph and Julia Ann (Friedman) Bauer. She was a 1941 graduate of Flint Central High School and had many years of vocal music training. She married Lee Mason Cronenwalt on June 7, 1942 and they were married 70 years when preceded her in death on December 17, 2012. Mrs. Cronenwalt worked at "Ma's Lunch", her mother's lunchroom across of Whittier Junior High School, she worked at AC during WW II making and testing machine guns, taught dance to children for Flint Parks and Recreation Program and collected and sold antiques. Mrs. Cronenwalt's passion was singing, she sang all the new and popular music at the Kresge Store at Saginaw and Kearsley Streets, sang with the Blues Classics Band on WFDF Radio, as well as sang in several church choirs and the annual presentation of Handel's Messiah at the IMA. Mrs. Cronenwalt also preformed on television shows in California and was an active member of the St. Cecilia Society for over 50 years. Surviving are: daughter, Mischele I. Cronenwalt; three grandchildren, Jerold Cohen of TX, Stephanie Holderlin of FL and Louis Cohen of the Philippines; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Renee Cronenwalt of CA; niece, Marlene Copeland of FL; special friends, Bob and Barbara Smith of Flushing, Denise Helmkay of Mt. Morris, David and Sharon Carmichael of Mt. Morris. She was also preceded in death by: three siblings, Violet Loraine (Jerry) Fine, Francis (Richard) Golden and Howard Joseph (Kirk) Bauer.
