Obituary for Louis George Merriam

Merriam, Louis George - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died March 16, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 21 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service Wednesday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to the Swartz Creek Area Fire Fighters Association. Louis was born March 16, 1938 in Flint the son of Louis Max Merriam and Emily (Jury) Merriam. He graduated from Beecher High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He married Patricia Murray on January 4, 1957 in Mt. Morris. He was the former Assistant Chief of the Swartz Creek Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; sons, David (Shawna), Eric (Karen), all of Swartz Creek, Kevin of Virginia; grandchildren, Jaclyn and Alyssa of Arizona, Mark, Dan and Katie of Swartz Creek, Emily of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Ben and Brooklyn. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Diane; two brothers, Max and Jim; sister, Louise. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
