PATTAN, Michele Georgia "Mikki" - Age 68, of Gaines, passed away on Thursday August 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church, 2439 S. Long Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and 10:30 AM until the time of service Wednesday at Church. Interment will be 9:30 AM Thursday, August 24 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation. Mikki was born September 29, 1948, the daughter of Richard and Mary Smith. She married Charles W. Pattan in Fenton on May 1, 1993. Mikki was employed as a Research Secretary in the Neurology Department at U of M Hospital. In retirement, Mikki was an accomplished quilter and known for her beautiful freehand work on her longarm sewing machine. She also had a passion for gardening, politics, and spending time with family and friends. Mikki is survived by: her beloved husband of 24 years, Charles; daughters, Kristen (John) Purdy, Kelly (Tom) Marks, and Kaitlen (James) Browne; grandchildren, Brooke, Mitchell, Lauren, and Mason Purdy, and Bella Marks; brothers, Larry Smith, Richard Smith, and John Smith.
