Born January 26, 1951 to his parents Nicholas and Rosalie Waskul, he was raised with his older sister Patricia in Detroit. This loving family grew over time to have 10 children in all. Nick was always very energetic and loved spending time with his father. The family moved to a larger house in Redford, in 1963. Growing up Nick learned to scuba dive, did archery and camping with the Boy Scouts, and learned how to fish. He had a passion for history, antiques, and many forms of art. As a young man he enrolled at Eastern MI University, but after a semester felt compelled to enlist in the Army with intensions to fight for his county in Vietnam. Ultimately, after serving his time in the States, he would fall in love and marry Lydia Gilley and started a new life in Dearborn MI. Nick was hired by Ford Motor Company in 1975 and started working in the emission department. Soon after he accepted a position at the Design Center as clay modeler. He enjoyed his work and his talent provided a good living for his family of 3 children, his daughter Cristina and sons Nicholas and James. They move to Fenton, MI on a large wooded property where Nick and his family hand built the house of his dreams. Nick was a talented artist in many mediums. He could build a suit of armor, sculpt a great white shark, or carve an eagle in great detail. Nick retired from Ford after 30 years as a Master Modeler. He spent his retirement traveling and collecting antiques. He met his present wife Moung at this time. Nick took on the responsibly of caring for his elderly parents. To cherish his memory, Nick leaves his beloved wife Moung, his children Cristina, Nicholas (Jamie), James (Margaret), and his 7 grandchildren. He will also dearly be missed by his mother, his aunts and siblings.
