Ruth was born on December 8, 1924 to Pearl May and William Weston Sellers. She had one brother, Donald Sellers (and wife Pearl) who preceded her in death. As a longtime resident of Flint, she married Crellis Frank Meythaler in 1947, where they met in Sunday School at Court Street United Methodist Church. They were married 33 years before his untimely death. For many years she volunteered her services at Court Street United Methodist working in the church library, preparing funeral dinners, in charge of preparation for communion. She and her husband especially enjoyed their times with their adult Aldersgate Sunday School class. Ruth will forever be remembered as generous and caring mother. Her greatest love was her family. Ruth will be missed by her daughters, Janice Louise White ( husband, Paul White), Carol Ann Lubbers (husband, Jeff Lubbers) and son, Jim Weston Meythaler, who lived with her as a caregiver for the last 4 years of her life. They blessed her with 6 grandchildren, Jason Paul White, Adam Crellis White, Emily Ann Lubbers/Burgon (Spencer), Susan Elizabeth Lubbers/Hirsch (Ben), John Andrew Lubbers, and Michael Frank Meythaler, plus 3 great grandchildren, Christine Ruth White, Daniel Paul White, and Kai Jacob Hirsch. She also was known as a tireless caregiver to family and friends. She became an RN through a Flint Junior College Program during WWII interned at Hurley Hospital . She loved to help people, she loved to feed people, and she loved to go camping with family and friends. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to her caregiver Stephanie Harris who provided the best care and companionship we could ever hope for. She made her last years interesting and fun. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
