PETERSON, Thomas Lee - age 76, of Fenton, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Relay for Life of Livingston County. Thomas was born April 12, 1941 in Flint, the son of Carl Oscar and Gladys (McPherson) Peterson. He married Carol Ann Spillane on August 12, 1961. Mr. Peterson worked at General Motors for 24 years, then founded his own industrial maintenance company, Waltom Services. After selling his business, he began working for Hodges Farm Equipment. Thomas was a devout member of South Mundy United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee. He was always an advocate for the underdog and volunteered monthly at a soup kitchen to help the homeless. Thomas had a passion for restoring old cars. He was a hardworking family man whose main motivation was providing for his family's every need. He dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren and touched everyone he encountered in a positive way. Surviving are: wife, Carol A. Peterson of Fenton; four children, Gretchen Brelinski of Fenton, Carl (Darlene) Peterson of Grand Blanc, Kristin (James) Jones of Frankenmuth, and Annie (Thomas) Childs of Clio; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (Larry) Krause of Granbury, TX, also survive.
