Obituary for Ulis Forrest Bunton

BUNTON, Ulis Forrest - Age 81, of Flint, died October 10, 2017 Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday October 13 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial in Sunset Hills, Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Ulis was born March 11 1936 in Elizabethton, TN the son of Spencer Charles and Margie Marie (Cable) Bunton. He married Nellie June Carnes on July 7, 1956 and they built a life together with their children in Flint, MI. Ulis retired from General Motors in 1996 and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association Golden Eagles. He was an avid fan of Bluegrass Music and a member of the Flushing Gun and Pistol Club.
He is survived by his wife, June; sons, Teddy Bunton of Clio, Doyle Bunton of Davison, Scott Bunton of Swartz Creek; daughter, Carol Compton and son in law, Fred of Clio; sister, Daisy Silket Of Spencer, WV;brother, Dale and wife Connie of Burton, brother, Jimmie and his wife Gail of Davison; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Margie Bunton; brothers, Dallas and Jack. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at
