William Shook

SHOOK, William "Bill" - Age 90, formerly of Holly, Florida, and Grand Blanc, passed away May 5, 2017 at Genesee Care Center. Bill was born June 5, 1926, the son of Burt and Jennie Mae (Perkins) Shook. He was the loving husband of Ilene (Rodgers) Shook, with a wonderful 69 years of marriage. He is survived by: his wife, Ilene; daughter, Cheryl (Shook) Collard; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Gertrude Henderson; and brother, Burt (Betty) Shook. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the war; he then had a 30 year career with GM until his retirement. Bill and Ilene moved to winter in Florida for many years and spent their summers in Michigan with family. Bill was a son, brother, and sailor. He was amazing husband, father, and grandfather to all his grandchildren. Bill was a loyal friend to all. He loved hunting, fishing, and was a master at both. His kindness, patience, and loving nature will forever be missed. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, William "Billy" Shook; sisters, Mae, Claudia, Phyllis; and brothers, Arthur and Stewart.
