BAKER, Amy S. - Age 90, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at her residence in Abbey Park Retirement Community. Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice, 2342 Stonebridge Dr., Flint, MI 48532. Mrs. Baker was born February 12, 1918 in South China, Maine, the daughter of Harry W. and Lena E. (Jones) Austin. She married Glen E. Baker April 23, 1938 in South China, ME and he preceded her in death August 30, 2007. She had resided in Grand Blanc the past 3 years coming from Melbourne, FL and South China, ME. She was raised in the Quaker Faith and became Presbyterian after marriage. She is survived by: 5 children, David H. Baker of Melbourne, FL, Betty R. Cox of Fenton, Donald E. and wife Linda Baker of Elk Rapids, James A. and wife Linda Baker of Fenton, John A. Baker of Ann Arbor; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Floy Jones of Iowa and Audrey Austin of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Sandra Baker; 7 brothers and sisters. There will be a Celebration of Her Life at 3:30 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Abbey Park Retirement Community, 3221 East Baldwin Road, Grand Blanc, MI.
