LePAIN, Deacon Andrew Joseph, age 78, of Fenton, formerly of Mancelona, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Fenton Extended Care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1PM Saturday, March 3, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Military honors will be performed under the auspices of Marine Corps League, Flint Detachment at the church following Mass. Visitation will be held 5-9PM Friday  at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. A vigil service will be held 7:30PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a catholic charity of donor's choice. Andrew was born August 14, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Ellery and Estelle (Meunier) LePain. He married Judith Ann Slack in 1948, and she preceded him in death in 1998. Andrew served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was employed by Wayne State University as a licensed plumber until retirement. Andrew attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit and then served as a Deacon at several parishes, the last being St. Thomas Aquinas in Elmira where he was also Pastor. Surviving are his 6 children, Timothy LePain and wife Elizabeth of Natick, Massachusetts, Andrea LePain of Portland, Oregon, Lynn Hill and husband William of Linden, Mark LePain and wife Evelyn of Linden, Laurie Kopack and husband Ron of Oak Park, David LePain and wife Joan of Cross Plains Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Ellery LePain and wife Jane of Naples, Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Edmond LePain and sister, Emily Caine. Those desiring may share online condolences or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
