BURKE, Anne Elizabeth (Sporer), age 86, of Fenton, died February 23, 2013 at Tanglewood Assisted Living. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Thursday February 28, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 600 N. Adelaide, Fenton. Father Kurian Kollapallil celebrant. Burial to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2PM to 8PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silverlake Rd., Fenton, with a 7PM Rosary being prayed. Visitation will also be held 9:30AM Thursday until time of mass at the church. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Anne was born June 20, 1926 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Zemmin) Sporer. She graduated from Dominican High School, Detroit in 1944 and married Gerald J. Burke on February 8, 1947. She was the proud mother of 7, grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 17. Anne loved playing bridge, golf, clogging and being a librarian, she won many awards for being a champion bridge player and golfer. She performed with the Sebring Florida Prix Cloggers on many stages, hospitals and nursing homes. She died after suffering Alzheimer's disease for 8 years. Even with the terrible effects of this disease she was admired and loved by all the lives she touched. She was a mother and wife of great charm.
