Archie Fugate

FUGATE, Archie - Age 71, of Gaines, died October 20, 2014 at McLaren-Flint with his loving family by his side. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday. Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, October 27, 2014 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association. Archie was born on May 4, 1943 in Haddix, Kentucky to Jerry and Emily (Spicer) Fugate. He had ten brothers and sisters, with the 3 surviving him. He served in the US Army from 1963-1966 in Germany and France. He married Janilea Hendley on July 26, 1969. They have two children Debra (Fugate) Hackett (David Hackett) of Swartz Creek and Donald Archie Fugate of Gaines. He was a loving father and wonderful husband. His hobbies were gardening, playing golf and playing with his granddaughter Maegen. Left to cherish his memory are his children, wife of 45 years, many nieces and nephews, friends, and the apple of Papa's eye- his only Grandchild, Maegen Janilea Xiang Hackett.
