Arlene Ruth CORMIER

CORMIER, Arlene Ruth - age 82, of Byron, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at her residence. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, July 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines with Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Thursday and 2-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a vigil service will be held 7 PM Friday night. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of mass Saturday at the church Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Mrs. Cormier was born August 16, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Edmund and Margaret (List) Schrott. She was a graduate of St. Rita High School. She married Alfred Cormier on October 1, 1949 and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2009. Mrs. Cormier resided in Byron since 1982 coming from Hazel Park. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are: 10 children, Cherie (Steven) Jankowski, Fred (Peggy), Liane (Kenny) Kemp, all of Hazel Park, Marie Meadows of Howell, Mark (Cindy) of Madison Heights, Chris (Monica) of Royal Oak, Carol (Pat) Scott of Gaylord, Bruce of Royal Oak, Andrea (Paul) Zissler of Dexter, Robert (Diane) of Davison; 29 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Paul) Moran of Traverse City and Karen (Nick) Lucas of Richmond, VA. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Alfred and May Cormier; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Scott and Alicia Meadows.
