Beatrice Kirkey

December 31, 1919 — April 22, 2006

KIRKEY, Beatrice  age 86, of Fenton, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at her sons residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Fenton United Methodist Church with Pastor David G. Mulder officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Monday and 1-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Fenton United Methodist Church or the Leukemia Foundation. Mrs. Kirkey was born December 31, 1919 in Clio, the daughter of Frank and Eva (Stevens) Sturdevant. She married Claude Kirkey on May 11, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Kirkey owned and operated Kirkey Shoes in Fenton for 45 years. She was an active member of the Fenton United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the United Methodist Womens Group. She was also active in the Boy Scouts. Surviving are: three sons, Dennis and wife, Ute of Flint, Frederick and wife, Kathryn, Kenneth and wife, Julie, all of Fenton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, AnnaMae Springer of Flushing; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kirkey and Betty Sturdevant.
