CURRIER, Bernard Charles - Age 82, of Burton, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 20, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint with Pastor Bruce Billings officiating. Burial immediately following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 AM - 2 PM and 5 PM - 8 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Mr. Currier was born September 1, 1926 in Tuscola County, the son of Claude and Hattie (Saxton) Currier. He married Alice Loretta Parkhurst April 24, 1945 in Constance, KY. He has resided in Burton since 1953. Mr. Currier retired in 1980 from GM Chevrolet Engine Plant after 33 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 659 and the Independent Order of Foresters. Mr. Currier enjoyed playing bingo. Surviving are: wife, Loretta; 4 children, Gene Claude and wife Pam Currier of Burton, Melinee Dawn Stiff of Columbiaville, Tina Louise and husband Tom Wightman of Grand Blanc, Donna Marie and husband Darwin Burks of Grand Blanc; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leo and wife Carolyn Currier of Kentucky and Frank Currier of Richfield Township; 2 sisters, Marie and husband Jay Stalker of Michigan and Joyce Persails of Flint; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Ceal Currier; 5 brothers, Keith, Paul, Bob, Claude and Eugene Currier.
