Bernard Gwinn

GWINN, W. Bernard "Bernie" - age 69, of Lennon, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service Thursday. Those desiring may make memorial contribution to Avalon Hospice. Bernie was born June 25, 1938 in Lockbridge, WV, the son of Elmore and Mattie (Meadows) Gwinn. He married Betty Nichols on April 12, 1979. Bernie retired from GMSPO as a Millwright in 1997. Since retirement he enjoyed "tinkering" in his pole barn. Surviving are: wife, Betty of Lennon; three daughters, Michelle Taddi and fiancé, Bill DeVernay of Harbor Springs, Barbara and husband, David Smith of Flint, Colleen and husband, Jeff Nearing of Mt. Morris; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Mattie Gwinn; six siblings, Pat and husband, Mike Miller, Dana Gwinn and wife, Terri, Anita Joy and husband, Richard Klinko, Betty and husband, Larry Fresch, Kathy and husband, Rick Rieser, Perry Gwinn and wife, LeAnn; many nieces and nephews.
