TAYLOR, Bernard Lee - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at Durand Senior Care Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. Monsignor Richard Groshek celebrant. Burial immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 5-9 PM Sunday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Monday and at church from 10 AM until time of Mass Tuesday. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church, Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society. Mr. Taylor was born June 9, 1927 in Carson City, the son of Murle and Bertha (Moore) Taylor. He married Ann Theresa Kleinedler July 2, 1949 in Swartz Creek. He had resided in the Swartz Creek area most of his life. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from GM Chevrolet Division Plant 2 after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local 659. Surviving are: wife, Ann Theresa; 4 children, Bernard, Jr. and wife Linda Taylor of Flint Township, Ronald Taylor of Charleston, SC, Mark and wife Dr. Julie Taylor of Flushing, Tamara and husband Mark Sims of Grand Blanc; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald and wife Rachel Taylor of Durand and Arthur and wife Florence Taylor of Lennon; sister-in-law, Cleo Taylor of Zephyrhills, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Mack; brother, Robert Taylor. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Durand Senior Care Center.
