McLEAN, Bessie -- Age 91, of Swartz Creek, died April 3, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be 1 PM Monday, April 9 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Sunday, 11 AM until time of funeral at 1 PM on Monday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the North End Soup Kitchen. Mrs. McLean was born September 19, 1920 in Monroe County, TN, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Brookshear) Ryans. She married Grayson McLean on May 11, 1940 in Crossville, TN; he preceded her in death in 1991. She had worked in the cafeteria at GMSPO for 25 years. She had resided in Orlando, FL, for 30 years and returning to Swartz Creek in 2009. Mrs. McLean was a a member of the First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, and the Shenandoah Baptist Church in Orlando. Surviving are: three children, Joyce Gardner and husband Bruce Lawton of Swartz Creek, Thomas and wife Paula McLean of Fenton, Pamela Abston of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Kelli Davila, Karin Hawkins, Keith McLean, Thomas McLean, Andy McLean, Staci Kridel, Kristi Kridel, and Jonathan Kridel; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Homer Ryans of Neoga, IL, Stella Laughlin of Knoxville, TN, Ruby Gregory of Harriman, TN; several nieces and nephews; special friend Maesene Birch; Tony Gardner of Lennon.
