Betty Hitchcock

HITCHCOCK, Betty Jean- Age 77, of Flint, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Avalon Hospice.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Dean Stewart officiating.  Burial immediately following at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12-9 PM Sunday.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice.  Betty was born July 21, 1930 in Flint, the daughter of Henry F. and Anna Pauline (Harmon) Barker.  She retired from GM AC Spark Plug as a Inspector of fuel pump and worked on presses.  She has resided in Flint her entire life.  She was a volunteer at McLaren and Flushing Senior Center.  "Mom and Grandma" full time job, "a good one".  Surviving are:  5 children, Sallie Ann Chapman and husband Dale of Westchester, PA, Robert William Brock and wife Cheryl of Lewiston, Tammy Luke and husband William of Swartz Creek, Debbie Sowden of Swartz Creek, Jerry Hitchcock of Davison; 12 grandchildren, Koreen, Amie, Robert, Monica, Anna, Natalie, Johnny, Erik, Cody, Brittany, Jacob and Larissa; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Avalon Hospice.  "online condolences and tributes may be posted to the Obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com".
