Chester F. Ward

WARD, Chester F. -- Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died August 31, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, September 3 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation 12-2 PM Friday, 1-2 PM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Ward was born December 6, 1918 in Matthews, Missouri. He had been a resident of Flint since 1948. He married Lois Margaret Anders on September 14, 1940; she preceded him in death September 7, 1992. He was a veteran if the U.S. Army serving from 1944-1946. Mr. Ward retired from Buick in 1976 with 30 years of service. He was a member of the South Baptist Church. Surviving are: three daughters Lawanda (August) Johnson of Ocoee, FL, Amanda Bright of Flint, Pamela Nowak of Swartz Creek; nine grandchildren, Mark, Matt and Daniel Johnson, Lori Huckabee, Mike, Brad (Carmen), and Kevin (Amy) Bright, Leonard (Jessica), and Jennifer Nowak; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters; one brother; many nieces and nephews.
