DOLEHANTY, Clement Charles- Age 84, of Gaines, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, June 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 118 E. Lord St, Gaines. Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Burial immediately following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek from 6-9 PM Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday and at church from 10 AM until time of Mass Thursday. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7 PM Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Mr. Dolehanty was born January 11, 1924 in Gaines, the son of Daniel James and Alma Eleanora (Brown) Dolehanty. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married Doris Johnson April 11, 1953 in Gaines. Mr. Dolehanty retired in 1988 from the U.S. Postal Service as a Rural Route Carrier after 26 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Council #12186, the 4th Degree; he was also a former member of the Gaines Lions Club for 29 years, member of the Gaines Village Council, Planning Commission President and was a volunteer fireman. Surviving are: wife, Doris; 10 children, Gary and wife Barbara of Nashville, TN, Allen and wife Sandy of Belfast,New York, Michael and wife Frankie of Flint, Joseph and wife Terry of Bancroft, Thomas of Gaines, Mary Ann Bishop of Flint, Karen and husband Terry Henson of Littleton, CO, Daniel and wife Susan of Durand, John and Mary Ann of Lansing, William of Waterford; 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; 2 sister, Helen Aurand of Gaines, Ruth Bennetts of Essexville; 2 brothers, Paul and wife Anne of Texas, Harold and wife Betty of Roseville; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Martin 'Marty'; 4 brothers, Stephen, Max, Leo and Lawrence; sister, Thelma Brady.
