Constance CLAUSEN

CLAUSEN, Constance Louise "Connie" - Age 83, of Fenton, passed away, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Genesys Hospital. Services will be held 2 PM Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Connie was born February 24, 1928 in Newport, New Hampshire, the daughter of Irving (Buster) and Hattie Hoyt. She married her husband of 63 years, Walter Clausen Jr. on February 14, 1948. In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Connie was a teacher. While managing a busy home, she returned to school to earn her Bachelors degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University, and continued to earn her Masters Degree in Developmental Education. She taught early elementary grades at Lake Fenton Community Schools where she applied her education, ingenuity and compassion to help develop one of the district's early special education programs. After retiring from Lake Fenton she enjoyed golfing, gardening and walking the beach during their winters in Anna Maria, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by their three sons, Gregory and wife Chris, Ken and wife Marjorie, Alan and wife Nancy; five grandchildren, Tonya Lance, Dominique Clausen, Jennifer Adams, Gregory Clausen II and Jeffrey Clausen; five great-grandchildren, Oliver Lance, Trina Adams, Kaylyn Adams, Gage Peruski and Sydney Clausen.
