David SCHNEIDER

SCHNEIDER, David -- Age 90, formerly of Linden and East Tawas, died October 21, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 25 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Randy Owens officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday, 10 AM until the time of service Thursday.Those desiring may make memorial contributions to East Tawas Church of the Nazarene. David was born May 17, 1922 in Blumfield Township, the son of Fred and Eva (Esmus)Schneider. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII. He retired from Buick and farmed for many years in Linden/Gaines. He married Rose Mary Jones on July 20, 1947; she preceded him in death July 28, 2000. He married Ada Mae (Randall) Crapo on September 16, 2006. He was very active in the Linden Free Methodist Church and then the East Tawas Church of the Nazarene. David was a handyman and a "surrogate father" to many nieces, nephews and friends of his children. Surviving are: wife Ada; 3 children, Michael (Sandra) Schneider of Haslett, Beverley Green of Westland, Linda Schneider of Omaha NE; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy (Erin) Schneider of Chicago, Joy (Bradley) Pitner of Mt. Pleasant, SC, John (Caitlin) Schneider of Lansing, Patrick Green of Westland, and Joel Schneider of Haslett; great grandchildren, Marilyn and Jack Pitner, and Eva Schneider; siblings: Lillian Deines of Tucson AZ, Ralph Schneider of Gaines; sister-in-law, Dorothy Schneider of Cheboygan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death also by his parents; son, Allen Schneider; daughter, Sandra Swain; and siblings Eva Sawyer, Frederick, Alexander, and Donald Schneider, and twin siblings that died in infancy.
