Deborah Accardo

January 19, 1957 — April 19, 2007

ACCARDO,  Deborah M., age 50 of Fenton, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at home.  Deborah was born in Flint on January 19, 1957 a daughter of Melvin and Helen (Hawrylo) Erickson.  She has been a Fenton area resident the past 23 years, coming from Flint.  She graduated from Hamady High School in 1975 and then later graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education. The past 11 years, she has been employed by the Fenton School District as a Teachers  Assistant.  Deborah was a member of the Freedom Center.  She was active in school activities with her daughters, Sarah and Melanie having been a Girl Scout Leader in earlier years and also a band volunteer at Linden High School. She enjoyed scrapbooking, making jewelry, gardening, but most of all she enjoyed her family to whom she was deeply devoted.  Surviving are her husband, Kris; her two daughters,  Sarah and Melanie, both at home.  Also surviving is her sister, Cindy Durrenberger (Larry) of Laingsburg, Michigan; 2 sisters-in law; Judi Boone (Steve) of Montrose, Korie Accardo of Mt. Morris and several nieces, nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Sharp Funeral Home Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton.  Pastor James Wiegand of the Freedom Center will officiate.  Burial will take place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.  Memorial gifts in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences or tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
