Elijah Florence

FLORENCE, Elijah J. - age 15, of Lake Fenton, went to hang out with Jesus Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his home after a long battle with Leukemia. Services will be held 3:30 PM Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd., Flint with Pastor Steve Hittle officiating. Visitation will be held 2-9 Tuesday and 10-2 and 4-9 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Eli Florence Foundation. Eli was born September 20, 1992 in Flint, the son of Todd Florence and Trina Howard. He was a sophomore at Lake Fenton High School and was recently voted Homecoming King. Eli brought a sense of peace to everyone around him. He was an encouragement to all and couldn't help but make you smile. Eli was an avid baseball fan and had an outgoing spirit that brought people together. His illness reached nationwide with thoughts and prayers from many all over the country. Left to cherish his smile and memory are: mother, Trina and husband, Tom King of Lake Fenton; father, Todd Florence and wife, Brenda of Fenton; sister, Kayler "KK" Florence; five step-siblings, Jennifer, Brian, Toben, Trevor and Tory; grandparents, Jerry Howard; grandma Gladys and grandpa Scott; Jim and Jean Florence; Ray and Sue Stanley; Sue King; great-grandfather, Orville Crothers; aunts and uncles, Jeff Howard and wife, Autumn, Krissy and husband, Mark Cabot, Thad Florence, Mike Stanley and wife, Debbie, aunt Megan and uncle Georgie; special friends, the Braun Family, Therese Henry and family, Ashley Look; many cousins, other relatives and friends. The family extends a sincere thank you to Eli's special nurse and friend, Marnie Penna and Dr. Greg Yanik for their compassion beyond measure.
