WHEELER, Elizabeth Ann (Liz)- Age 93, of Grand Blanc, MI passed away at Grand Blanc Nursing Home and went with the angels to her heavenly home March 16, 2007. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. with Rev. Donald Werden officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 1-4 and 6-9PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Deliverance Tabernacle, G-4089 Fenton Rd., Burton, MI 49529. Elizabeth was born November 13, 1913 to John and Mary Hogan in Cleveland, OH. She was raised in Saginaw, Michigan and played on the Carrolton Rainbows all girl basketball team where she met and married Joseph Wheeler on December 5, 1931. Elizabeth worked in the factories during World War II and her patriotic spirit still remains today. She was a prayer warrior every day. Elizabeth and her husband Joseph helped found the church, Deliverance Tabernacle, on Alvord St., before it moved to Fenton Rd. They worked to build the present church and Liz taught Sunday school there. She is still remembered by her former students. They owned and operated a dry cleaner business in Fenton and Linden. Joseph passed away March 3, 1972 ending 41 years of marriage. They had three daughters, Joanne (Henry) Cohoon of Grand Blanc, Jacqueline (Earl) Edgley of Scottsdale, AZ, Marjorie (John) Martin of Tawas. She has left 10 grandchildren, Joni Gibson, Henry Cohoon, Juli Campbell, Wayne Cohoon, Steven Edgley, Lori Boyd, John Edgley, Daniel Ureche, Kim Hornblower, David Ureche. Elizabeth has 24 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Also she leaves behind her beloved sisters, Verna Alfano of Mayville, MI and Lela and Fritz Oliver of Midland, MI. Going ahead of her besides her husband Joseph were her brothers and sisters, Patrick, John, Joseph, Alfred, Albert, Julia, Mary, Helen and Ethel; her sons-in-law, Earl Edgley and John Martin; her grandchildren, Jean Cohoon, Vickie Ureche and Marcie Martin and great-grandchild, Autumn Rain Cohoon.
