Elwyn Brownell

BROWNELL, Elwyn Grant, age 83, of Flint, died January 25, 2005 at Genesys Convalescent Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Elwyn was born in Flint on October 7, 1921 the son of Harry Grant and Ada Emma (Merriman) Brownell. He graduated from Central High School in 1939, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, earning a Purple Heart for his dedication to our country. Elwyn was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years as a mail carrier. Surviving are his sister, Elizabeth 'Betty' and husband Raymond Bissonnette of Flint; 5 nephews, Roger (Carol) Brownell of Flint, Larry (Carol ) Brownell of Flushing, David (Jean) Brownell of Seminole, FL, Ronald Bissonnette of Garland, TX, Brian Bissonnette of Flint, 2 nieces, Marcia (Michael) Burns of Holly, Diane (Mark) Ducharme of Grand Blanc, and sister-in-law, Marian Brownell of Sarasota, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Raymond Brownell. The family would like to thank the staff at Genesys Convalescent Center for their heartfelt care and support.
