Emma HORNES

HORNES, Emma - age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, February 18, 2012. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor David Burkett officiating. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM and 6-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Hornes was born April 27, 1923 in Manitowoc, WI, the daughter of Johann and Marie Katherine (Eisner) Lorenz. She married Otto Hornes in November 1940 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1985. Emma was a banquet waitress at Italia Gardens, the Durant Hotel and Masonic Temple in downtown Flint. Surviving are: five daughters, Carol Link of Kalamazoo, Judy Harger of Denver, Kathy (Larry) Bourne of Sterling Heights, Sharon (Larry Schurer) Greenway of Swartz Creek, Marilyn (John) Tesler of Flint Twp.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, brother Eddie (Muriel) Lorenz of Grand Blanc; several nieces and nephews.
