Emma SCHATZ

June 4, 1925 — September 15, 2013

SCHATZ, Emma - age 88, of Flint, passed on September 15, 2013 peacefully at the Pines of Lake Fenton. Private family services will be held with burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. She was born in Saratov, Russia on June 4, 1925. Emma was preceded in death by her mother, Maria (Stiegerwald) Diener, father, Jacob Diener, son, Ronald Schatz, husband, Otto Schatz, sister, Hilda Johnson and brother, Henry Diener. Emma was a long-time member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Flushing. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed her home immensely. She loved God above all else, He gave her great strength during her lifetime. She was a true survivor and now she is with the ones who passed before her. She is survived by: her son, Emil Schatz and wife, Brenda of Fenton; sister, Lydia Grossi and husband, Sam of Clio; sister, Katy Sullivan of Alaska and a host of nieces and nephews who she thought highly of. Special thanks to all the staff at the Pines, especially to Amy and Nicole who were with Emma for the duration. Also a special thanks to the Genesys Hospice nurses and staff.
