Erma POST

POST, Erma - age 92, of Durand, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in Corunna. Services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Shiawassee County Humane Society. Mrs. Post was born October 7, 1921 in Owosso, the daughter of John and Louisa (Grob) Papenfuss. She married John D. Post, Jr. on April 11, 1941 and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1964. Mrs. Post was a life long resident of the Owosso and Durand areas. She was a member of the Duffield United Methodist Church and a past member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Post loved her family and grandchildren. Surviving are: two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Blair of Durand and Shirley (Richard) Cross of Swartz Creek; daughter-in-law, Sharon Post of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, John Post; grandson, David Johnson, Jr.; infant granddaughter, Tina Marie Post; infant great-granddaughter, Emily Rose; four brothers and four sisters. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility (Pleasant View) for their care the last 3 years.
