GAMEL, Ernestine "Ernie" - Age 76, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, April 27, 2009. Service will be held 2PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Twp. The family will gather with friends from 12PM until the time of service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Ernie was born in Detroit on May 3, 1933. Mrs. Gamel was retired from GM, was Flint's last Meter Maid and served in the WACs. Ernestine is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Gamel of Flint; daughter, Tina Springer of Burton; 3 stepsons, Mike (Tammy) Gamel of Arkansas, Timothy Gamel of Flint and Barry (Wendy) Gamel of Flint; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Martha Ivie of Bardwell, KY. Ernestine was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a "Good Ol' Bird".
