POLK, Ethel- Age 98, of Flint, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Willowbrook Manor.  Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Machpelah Cemetery.  Mr. Leonard Meizlish officiating.  Contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 5240 Calkins Road, Flint, MI 48532.  Mrs. Polk was born March 23, 1909 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Adolph and Regina (Rosenwasser) Grossman.  She married Dr. Edward Alexander Polk August 4, 1926 in Pittsburgh, and he preceded her in death December 31, 1959.  She has resided in Flint for the past 18 1/2 years coming from Pittsburgh.  She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel where she was a member of Hadassah, Sisterhood, Congregation Beth Israel and The Senior Friendship Club. While living in Pittsburgh she was a member of B'nai Abraham and The B'nai B'rith Women.  Surviving are: 2 children, Melvin Polk of Israel and wife Ruth (deceased), Sandra Himelhoch and husband Robert of Flint; 7 grandchildren, Steven Polk of Los Angeles, CA, Karen Eden and husband Fred of Israel, Kim Mart and husband Tom of Minneapolis, MN, Karel Glazer and husband Aron of Israel, Faye Valencia of Flint, Alan Himelhoch and wife Sharon of Grand Blanc, Gail Johnson and husband Steven of Clarkston; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Edith Grossman of Hollywood, FL.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Joseph and Leonard Polk and brother, Dr. Fred Grossman.
