DEAN, Evangeline - Age 85, of Linden, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Burial immediately following in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden Saturday from 5-8 PM and Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM and at church Monday from 10-11 AM. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. John's Outreach, or a charity of one's choice. Evangeline was born February 26, 1929 in Davisburg the daughter of Orson and Mabel (Erbe) Young. She married William Harold Dean September 20, 1947 in Holly and he preceded her in death November 15, 1991. She had resided in Linden since 1948 coming from Holly. Evangeline was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was active for many years. Surviving are: 4 children, Christine (Raymond) Kinyon of Linden, Claudia (Wayne) Newton of Ruskin, FL, Daniel (Edna) Dean of League City, TX, and Judy (Bruce) Fridline of Grand Blanc; 9 grandchildren, Michelle (Joe) Colburn, Christopher Kinyon, Sherri (Sid) Krampera, Matthew Newton, Daniel (Kristi) Dean, Darin Dean, Connor Fridline, Benjamin Fridline, and Natalie Evangeline Fridline; brother, Harold (Betty) Young; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, William Dean II in 1976; daughter, Jennifer Dean in 1957; 5 brothers, William, Joe, Floyd, Cecil, and Howard Young; and 4 sisters, Ruby Mac Donald, Irene Gavette, Alva Shields, and Ruth Koen.
