SMITH, Evelyn Irene - Age 99, of Flint, died Tuesday May 21, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Calvary Christian Church, 7315 Corunna Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Rex Odglen officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 11AM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Christian Church. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, our Temporary location, Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Road, Swartz Creek (Mundy Township). Evelyn was born January 14, 1920 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel (Bauders) Crooks. She married Orrin Elmer Smith in Mt. Morris on March 29, 1941 and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1987. Evelyn graduate from LaRue College of Cosmetology and was a self-employed beautician in the Genesee County are for 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Evelyn was a member and volunteer with Calvary Christian Church and was a member of Carmen-Ainswoth Senior Center. Surviving are: sons, Lorrine ( Sandra) Smith of Flint, William (Shirley) Smith; grandchildren, Christoper Novak, Karen (Adamm) Klimaszewski, Carl Novak; great granddaughters, Amy, Samantha; great great grandson, Sylus and many nieces and nephews and close friends. She was also preceded in death by her son, Neil Smith. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
