Ewell Richardson

RICHARDSON, Ewell, age 93, of Flint, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held 3PM Monday, May 5, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be 5-8PM Saturday, 1-3 & 5-7PM Sunday and 2PM until time of service on Monday. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:30PM. Ewell was born August 5, 1920 in Tallassee, Alabama the son of Lewis and Hattie (Hardman) Richardson. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in WW2. He married Sara Humphrey on October 25, 1947 in Rockford, Alabama. He worked for General Motors for over 24 years and retired in 1981. Ewell loved Alabama football, homemade ice cream, gardening, yard work, and his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 66 years Sara Richardson, sons Terry Richardson of Fenton, Donald (Kerry) Richardson of Tennessee, Jackie Richardson of Swartz Creek, Neil (Mary Lynn) Richardson of Wellston, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Shaun Richardson, great grandson Chase Richardson and daughter in law Darlene Richardson. Contributions may be made to Westside Baptist Church.
