Fanny Peila

PEILA, Fanny Sylvia "Fay" - Age 91, of Fenton, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service. Fanny was born January 31, 1917 in White Pine, MI, the daughter of Antti and Edla Emilia (Pakka) Koskinen and was a 1934 graduate of Ontonagon High School. She moved to Detroit, attended college and worked various jobs. She was married to Ernest Peila who passed away in 1982. Surviving are: daughter, Sandra Emily and husband Phillip Meade of Fenton; grandchildren, Zach and Julian Meade of Fenton; sister, Eva Koskinen Nykanen of Madison Heights; half-sister, Toni Laitala Spitale of Palms; half-brother, Ernest Laitala of Texas; step-sisters and brothers, Aune, Alfred, Eric, Mandy. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Aili Koskinen Aho, Antony Koskinen; half-sister, Ina Laitala Craig; half-brother, Joseph Laitala.
