Franklin TINNIN

May 12, 1933 — March 30, 2012

TINNIN, Franklin Delano, Sr. - age 78, of Flint, died Friday, March 30, 2012 at McLaren Flint. Services will be 1 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Pastor Joshua Combs officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 and 6-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Mr. Tinnin was born May 12, 1933 in Missouri, the son of Charles and Nancy (Gromer) Tinnin. He married Bernadine Jones on January 24, 1953. Mr. Tinnin was a veteran of the U.S Army serving from 1953-1955. He was an auto mechanic for many years and retired in 1984 from Buick Motor Division. Mr. Tinnin loved hunting and fishing. Surviving are: wife, Bernadine of Flint; seven children, Franklin (Patricia) Tinnin, Jr. of Flint, Rebecca (Jim) Hulber of Gladwin, Marilyn (Kevin) Dake of Flushing, Sherry Tinnin (Bill Palmer) of Burton, Mark (Julie) Tinnin of Burton, Karen (Allen) DuBose of Flint, Stephanie (Ryan) Hiller of Goodrich; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Lee (Lois) Tinnin of Clio; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 12 brothers and sisters; grandson, Jeffrey. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
