Garnet Martin

MARTIN, Garnet Wells - age 81, of Gladwin, formerly of Flint, died Monday, November 10, 2008 in Midland. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 16, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Rev. Hal Philips and Mr. Greg Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Halsey Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday and 10-12 and 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Martin was born September 9, 1927 in Stamford, CT, the son of Garnet Angus and Dorothy May (Wells) Martin. He married the love of his life, Marian Belle Weaver on April 9, 1949 in Flint. Mr. Martin was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked 9 1/2 years at General Motors and retired from Citizen's Bank as the Head of Maintenance after 33 years Surviving are: wife, Marian; four children, Gloria Marie (Fredrick) Young of Columbiaville, Gary Weaver (Debbie) Martin of Otisville, Gail Ann (Russell) Malott of Traverse City, Nancy Jean (Gaylord) Forshee of Flint; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Lenda) Martin of Grand Blanc; sister, Barbara (Howard) Eddy of Linden.
