FROST, Garth Turner - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, March 24, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, March 28, 2011 at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Rd., Flint with Pastor Todd Meece officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to North Baptist Church Building Fund. Garth was born August 19, 1928 in Flint, the son of Harold Henry and Emeline Millicent (Turner) Frost. He was a 1947 graduate of Flint Northern High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Michigan State University. He was an avid football player, going All State in High School, then on to Michigan State for two years. Mr. Frost was a teacher and head of the Social Studies Dept. for the Flint Public Schools, retiring in 1991. He also coached football, baseball, tennis and volleyball. He was a member of North Baptist Church where he held offices as deacon, usher, Sunday school teacher and other committees. He loved the Lord dearly and is now present with Him John 14:1-6. Mr. Frost was also a member of M.E.A. Surviving are: wife, Donna; son, David Frost; step-children, Deborah (George) Meyer, Charles Coburn, Harold (Sue) Coburn; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Veta) Frost; niece, Rebecca Frost and husband, Bill Dobbs.
