Gary Groesser

GROESSER, Gary G. - age 73, of Glen Arbor and Flint, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held 3 PM Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Gary's favorite charities, Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Gary was born June 28, 1935. He was full of wit, and while his swing stunk, he loved to golf with his sons, as well as, spending time in Glen Arbor with his mother and family. As a young man, he had sailed the Great Lakes on an iron ore carrier, The W.C. Richardson. He loved traveling, evidenced by his long history of truck driving, most of those years for Franchi Beer Distributors. Thank you to the many wonderful people who have blessed his life over the years, to Avalon Hospice, and a very heartfelt thank you to his significant other, Susan Kern, our angel with red hair; she committed herself to him throughout the full nine year fight with illness. He leaves behind his mother, Charlotte Groesser of Glen Arbor; four children, Steve Groesser of Flint, Cindy King of Flint, Scott (Lyn) Groesser of Clio, Jeff (Michelle) Groesser of Swartz Creek; their mother, Ruth Groesser; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
