Gerald Nielson

NIELSON, Gerald 'Jerry' - age 81, of Flushing, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 4 PM Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 3 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to McLaren Hospice. Jerry was born August 25, 1926 in Flint, the son of William D. and Lillis (England) Nielson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1944-1946 and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. Surviving are: wife, Ann; step-son, Glenn Broom; brother, Bill Nielson of TN; sister, Lou Trautwein of FL; five grandchildren, Sabrina Adams, Roxanna Szabo, Ryan Nielson, Leah Broom, Travis Broom; several great-grandchildren.
