WISNIEWSKI, Gerald, age 80, of Swartz Creek, died at Avalon Hospice, Wednesday, January 28, 2009. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at All Saints Catholic Church, G4063 W. Pierson Rd., Flint. Rev. Anthony Majchrowski celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. A Parish Rosary will be prayed 7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Gerald was born December 20, 1928 in Flint the son of the late Aloysius Wisniewski and Louise Wotzka. He married Margaret Crang in 1947 in Los Angeles, CA. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Atomic Bomb Test in Bikini. He was employed by General Motors, Buick Division as a fork lift driver, retiring in 1978 after 30 years of service. Gerald enjoyed fishing, horseshoes and going to the casino, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Margaret; 4 daughters, Pat Willson (Bill) of Jackson, Carol Waugh (Cal) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Diane Browne (Wally) of Brighton, Lori Vaughan (John) of Swartz Creek; 11 grandchildren, Geoff (Sarah), Drew (Lisa), Matt, Guy (Heather), Ryan (Kim), Amy, Kellie (Derek), Curtis, Tiffany (Andrew), Autumn, Tyler; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerome Wisniewski (Wanda) of Swartz Creek. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Andrew Kekel; and grandson Brad Willson. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Avalon Hospice for their loving care.
