Grace Barnes

BARNES, Grace - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died January 30, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint. Fr. Thomas Firestone celebrant. The family will receive friends from 3-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and from 10 AM until the time of Mass Saturday at church. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Grace was born September 20, 1929 in Connellsville, PA and was Senior class president and valedictorian of Dunbar Township High School. Grace worked in real estate in Genesee County for many years. She loved sports, especially the Red Wings and Tigers. She is survived by her sons, Mark Barnes, Greg (Rebecca) Barnes; grandchildren, Tara, Kristie and Julia; three great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Charles Adams; sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Roy) Ching, Margaret "Peggy" (Frank) Ferrari; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Sandy. She was preceded in death by her very special grandparents, John and Elizabeth (Moore) Prichard; mother, Priscilla Sparrow; husband, Richard; daughter, Tracy; brother, John "Bill" Sparrow, longtime companion, Sam Gershinzon.
